Guilty verdict for Trevor Shannon
A jury has found Trevor Shannon guilty of second degree murder.
Shannon's sentence carries with it life in prison with no chance of parole for 10 years after shooting Evan Wilkes in the head with a handgun at a Kelowna house party in April of last year.
Debra Wilkes was seen speaking with Shannon's mother once the verdict was read:
"I said that I was sorry for her because she did lose a son aswell because she won't see him but at least he is still alive and she can talk to him, I can't talk to my son. She didn't put the gun in his hands, she didn't by it for him. Its Trevor's fault."
Wilkes is hopeing to speak to Kelowna high schools at graduation next year on the dangers of handguns.
