It's a real thrill for us to chat with former Global TV News Anchor Tony Parsons, as we kick off National Book Week.  We met Tony years ago when he came up to emcee the Canadian Cancer Societys' Gala of Hope.  We have both watched him doing the nightly news for years and it was a real pleasure to meet him AND work with him.  He is such a wonderful man!  As you know, Tony just recently announced his retirement from Global TV and is about to begin a new venture at CHEK-TV in Victoria.  He's also written a book.... essentially an auto-biography.  It's called "A Life In The News".  Knowing that Andy is one of the BIGGEST Tony Parsons' fans around, Tj picked the book up for him for Christmas.  He really enjoyed it and read it cover-to-cover in just a day or two.  Andy couldn't believe how honest Tony was about his upbringing, his battle with the bottle and depression and how much broadcasting has changed.

Tony is in Arizona right now, enjoying the two BIG loves of his life.  Golf and spending time with his wife, Tammy.  We managed to hook up with him to chat about his future, his new book and the mutual admiration he and Andy share for cigars.

If you want to check out his new book, it's available at Mosaic Books...right next to us here at Astral Media on Bernard Ave.  Oh and be listening for your chance to win a copy!!  CONGRATS to Cathy D., who was so excited to win a copy this morning.  We'll give you another chance tomorrow.  Thanks to Michael at Mosaic Books for donating Tonys' new book for us to give away!!

Here we are with Tony at the 4th Annual Gala of Hope at the Delta Grand!

I was driving to work a few days ago and heard if there was a book to suggest to post but I cannot find the link. So with that being said I have read a really good book. It is called "The Shack" by William P. Young. I love to read and enjoy a good book just as much as the next person, and I am not a religious person, but this book was a good one. It gives you the chance to experience every emotion it has its highs and lows and makes you mad, sad, happy, revengful, regretful but in the part it makes a really good read! Should check it out. Have a great day and I love the Andy and TJ show I listen all the time. Silk Fm is THE BEST station and has a great variety of music!
